# NCC-1715E Enterprise-inspired Starship + Display Stand — V2 Detailed

Stylised 3D-printable desktop display model generated for Sott. This v2 version adds more printable surface detail while keeping features chunky enough for FDM/AD5X slicing.

This is an Enterprise-inspired display model, not a screen-accurate licensed replica.

## Print files

- `ncc_1715e_starship_DETAILED_PRINT.stl` — print this as the detailed ship.
- `ncc_1715e_display_stand_DETAILED_PRINT.stl` — print this as the detailed labelled stand.
- `ncc_1715e_assembly_DETAILED_REFERENCE.stl` — visual/reference only; do not use as the normal print file unless you intentionally want a combined non-practical layout.

## What changed vs v1

Added printable detail including:

- Raised oval saucer panel/ring layers.
- Raised saucer shoulder strips.
- Raised block-style `NCC-1715E` registry on top of the saucer.
- More detailed deflector nose/button.
- Engineering hull ribbing.
- Aft shuttle-bay-style block detail.
- Extra warp nacelle bussard cap detail.
- Nacelle top rib/grille bars.
- Nacelle side glow-strip-style raised bars.
- Stand base trim rails and raised nameplate ledge.

All decorative details are intentionally raised/sunk-in solid geometry, not textures.

## Dimensions

- Ship: approx **108 × 157 × 28.2 mm**
- Stand: approx **115 × 72 × 72.5 mm**
- Registry text used: `NCC-1715E`

If you wanted canonical Enterprise-E registry text instead, edit this line in `create_ncc_1715e_enterprise.py` and rerun:

```python
REGISTRY = "NCC-1701-E"
```

## Material assumption

- PLA for first print: easiest, crisp detail, fine for indoor display.
- PETG optional for the stand if you want a tougher support part.

## Orientation / supports

- Ship: print upright/flat with the underside on the bed. Expect supports under some saucer/secondary-hull transitions, nacelle/pylon areas, and possibly aft detail.
- Stand: print base flat on the bed. The saddle may need light support depending on Orca-FlashForge overhang settings.

## Orca-FlashForge starting point

Verify the installed nozzle before slicing. For a 0.4 mm nozzle PLA first print:

- Layer height: **0.16 mm** if you want better detail; **0.20 mm** if you want faster.
- Walls: **3**
- Top/bottom: **4–5 layers**
- Infill: **10–15% gyroid/cubic** for the ship; **15–25%** for the stand
- Supports: organic/tree supports, support-on-build-plate where possible
- Brim: optional for the ship, useful if adhesion is marginal; recommended for stand if your profile tends to lift
- Seam: hide on rear/underside where possible

## Verification

Generated and reloaded with `trimesh`/`manifold3d`.

- Detailed ship STL: watertight, **1 connected component**
- Detailed stand STL: watertight, **1 connected component**
- Detailed assembly reference STL: watertight, **2 components**, expected because ship and stand are separate display objects
