# NCC-1715E Enterprise-inspired Starship + Display Stand

Stylised 3D-printable desktop display model generated for Sott. This is a printable Enterprise-inspired starship, not a screen-accurate licensed replica.

## Print files

- `ncc_1715e_starship_PRINT.stl` — print this as the ship.
- `ncc_1715e_display_stand_PRINT.stl` — print this as the labelled stand.
- `ncc_1715e_assembly_REFERENCE.stl` — visual/reference only; do not use as the print file unless you intentionally want a combined non-practical layout.

## Dimensions

- Ship: ~108 × 157 × 28.2 mm
- Stand: ~115 × 72 × 72.5 mm
- Registry text used: `NCC-1715E`

If you wanted canonical Enterprise-E registry text instead, edit `REGISTRY = "NCC-1701-E"` in `create_ncc_1715e_enterprise.py` and rerun the script.

## Material assumption

- PLA for first print: easiest, crisp detail, fine for indoor display.
- PETG optional for the stand if you want a tougher support part.

## Orientation / supports

- Ship: print upright/flat with the underside on the bed. Expect some slicer support under saucer/secondary hull transitions and nacelle/pylon areas. Use normal organic/tree supports if Orca-FlashForge flags long underside spans.
- Stand: print base flat on the bed. Supports should be minimal; the saddle may need light support depending on your overhang threshold.

## Orca-FlashForge starting point

- Printer: FlashForge AD5X, verify installed nozzle before slicing.
- For a 0.4 mm nozzle PLA first print:
  - Layer height: 0.16–0.20 mm
  - Walls: 3
  - Top/bottom: 4–5 layers
  - Infill: 10–15% gyroid/cubic for the ship; 15–25% for the stand
  - Brim: optional for ship, recommended if corners lift; useful for stand stability
  - Seam: hide on rear/underside where possible

## Verification

Generated and reloaded with `trimesh`/`manifold3d`.

- Ship STL: watertight, 1 component
- Stand STL: watertight, 1 component
- Assembly reference STL: watertight, 2 components as expected because ship and stand are separate display objects
